1 day Chernobyl tour
100$ for all foreign tourists! We start every day from Kyiv
Taste the post-apocalyptic world in this one day special tour. This whole day experience is focused mainly on exploring the ghost town of Pripyat and the secret military radar Duga, which was standing just few kilometers far.
During this tour you'll visit the exteriors of abandoned buildings, including the mysterious hospital, where the first liquidators were brought, a school still full of books and other equipment, a kindergarten with toys waiting to be played with, a police station and the famous amusement park including the Ferris wheel. The cherry-on-a-cake would definitely be the visit of the biggest still-standing soviet secret military radar called DUGA.
Come and listen to all these tales & legends (including many conspiracy theories!), which will be explained by our experienced and friendly guides.
The tour starts and ends in Kyiv. The price of the trip includes transfer from Kyiv to Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and back with comfortable van (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) with Wi-Fi and A/C, official permit for entering the zone, non-stop services of our guide and a lunch. Flight ticket to/from Kyiv is not included in the price.
You can arrive to Boryspil Airport (approx. 30 km from Kyiv) or Kyiv International Airport - Zhuliany (directly in the city) and take a Skybus or Uber (just dial toll-free #9988*) to your accommodation. It is possible to secure a transfer from/to airport for you by SVITLANA TRAVEL , in case of interest please contact our Customer Care.
For a trip to Ukraine, most of the tourists don't need visas, just valid passport. Before booking the tour, please check if your passport is still valid. Don't forget to take your passport with you, when travelling to Ukraine and also to Chernobyl.
Travelling to Ukraine is completely safe these days. National departments of foreign affairs warn about these three areas - Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. All other parts of Ukraine are safe, just as your country where you come from. Our trip starts in Kyiv and continues to the north, towards borders with Belarus. Bear in mind these areas are as far as 1,000 km from the Donetsk and Luhansk & even further from Crimea. In addition to that, you will find Ukrainians very nice and hospitable by nature.
Please mind the fact that in Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, for your own safety, you need to always wear sturdy shoes & clothes that cover your whole body (also in the hot days in summer). For children under 18 years of age, entry to Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is forbidden. Also, entering buildings in Pripyat has unfortunately been prohibited since 2012.

As soon as the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone opened almost a decade ago, we did our best to create the most insightful tour of the disaster. We organized plenty of individual tours of the site, so you can rest assured we will offer you the best experience. Our service is available throughout the year, while our expertise and knowledge about Chernobyl recommend us as one of the best Chernobyl tour operators. If you’re interested in a one-day tour to Chernobyl for individual tourists, here’s what you need to know.
Chernobyl tour is safe
The first question we get asked is whether or not the Chernobyl tour is safe. The answer supported by both the scientists and the Geiger-Muller counters is yes. The radiation level in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone upon a day spent on site will not exceed the 4% of the daily nuclear power plant safety regulations of the EU. To make an accurate idea about this, this represents the same amount of radiation you will get from a four-hour intercontinental flight.
